I agree! President Obama was a charismatic president. He was and he needed to be. As the first black president of a country which hosted a segregationist administration until a generation ago, it was an astonishing achievement. He had a vision probably too (rhetorical) than practical. It was his biggest mistake; specifically with regard to healthcare. His mission was popularity focused which undermines his basis with the opposing party. America has been a divided country for over a century but today is even more significant. Radicals on both sides of the aisle have risen to the point of ridiculousness. And today we are suffering the consequences. All in all he ran fir popularity context because he needed to, and what we are experiencing today is the rebound phenomenon.

Well, I don’t think Obama will return to do politics, his wife won’t let him probably.

And yes, extreme radical parts from both sides are destroying politics and eventually societies everywhere, not only is US.

Radicals from both sides are like vampires or zombies, they open their mouth as though they obey blindly at their most primordial instincts and try to suck blood from their opponents.

A couple of years ago, I think in 2017 ±1, the tension between left and right wing in Greece was so high that an almost 100 yrs old communist (Russian type communist) that he is a famous artist in Greece, said publicly that: “Fascism, is not only a characteristic of the right wing but nowadays is a characteristic also of the left wing. The so called left-turned fascism”. And he was right. In fact our ex government, was a mix of hard core fascists and modern socialists and communists.

In any case I did enjoyed this video: Jennifer Lawrence is 'Unbreaking America's Political System Failure

It reminds me is a quote of mine from not long ago....“It is obvious that the political fascism & bigotry has become an accepted culture across all major-party lines !!! And its footprint on our healthcare system is not an exception” Adam Tabriz, MD

Fascism has indeed become the tool public persuasion. It has no relation with the left or right wing ideology, because it is the ideology of its own with at the dark corner of human nature.

Cheers

I’m not so sure about leftist Fascism but I do agree that our country has always been polarized. It is only more pronounced today because social media brings about instanced news and instant community feedback unlike the newspapers of our time. Media outlets through internet channels and smart TVs provide plenty of content focused on this polarization because it sparks the most views and the most response in general. Thank you for the comments and your feedback!

Indeed, for some -social media have always played the devils advocate in radical sociopolitical polarization however I would call it the Modern axis of censorship and conspiracy as responsible factor i.e. insufficient net neutrality, interpretive journalism and social media meddling

I don't know about US, but "leftist fascism" is everywhere in places like Greece or Italy. And both leftist and traditional right wing fascists are just ignorant for me. Yes, social media has somehow fueled this polarisation. I grew up with a communist grandfather and a right wing grandfather, and guess what, I have never seen them fighting about politics. Never. I would visit one grandfather and he would buy me books of Russian poetry and Gorbachev and then I would visit my other grandfather and he would talk me about the WWII and the Americans and the Marshall plan. And they even liked each other these two completely different grandfathers, even though they lived during a civil war in Greece and one was sent in prison and the other lost his job. But, last time I was involved in a conversation in a Facebook group between a modern communist and a modern right wing guy...I was...wow you are stupid both. So by fascists here, we mean radicals, extremists of all political spectrum, we even call them talibans 🙄

Adam, I guess bigotry in healthcare is like being a cancer cell wanting to cure cancer...me, me, me, me, me is all about me and my opinion...well that's the mentality of a cancer cell. So a healthcare professional with that mentality wanting to cure cancer...wow wow wow
