I’m a former Assistant Vice President and Letters of Credit Specialist II at Comerica Bank who experienced the dark side of corporate America firsthand. While actively managing my disabilities under approved ADA accommodations — and protected under the ADEA — I was terminated just six business days after returning from FMLA paternity leave for the birth of my second daughter, a child we were only able to have because of the bank’s fertility benefits. The bank’s actions left me in significantly worse physical condition, stripped away my income as the sole provider for my wife and two children under two, and shattered our family’s stability at the exact moment we needed it most. Now I write to expose how big banks like Fifth Third — fresh off acquiring Comerica — consistently put mergers, profits, and expansion ahead of people, the law, and basic human decency. This isn’t theory. I lived it. Perhaps you have a similar story?
